RUNAWAY FROM GAOL

GREYMOUTH, January 12
Arrested on warrant on Monday for failure to pay a fine of £5, a prisoner escaped from the Greymouth Gaol at noon on Tuesday and has not been located.
The man, who was serving a sentence of seven days' imprisonment, was given work in an outbuilding and a quarter of an hour later was missing.
