A White Paper gives details of plans for a short air route from South Africa to Australia by flying over the South Polar Circle via Adelie Land, making the total flight from Cape Town to Sydney 6500 miles, occupying 32| hours' flying time on a basis of 200 miles an hour

In return for permission from France to use Adelie Land the Governments of Britain, Australia, and New Zealand will agree to French planes using the British South Polar territories.
