THEIR FUNCTION AND AIM

The function of a technical school was laid down in the annual report of the principal of the Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College, which was considered at a meeting of the board of managers last evening. Mr. McFadyen said that the school aimed at providing for both boys and girls full-time courses which combine a sound general education with real insight into the principles and practice of some calling.

The aim was the, preparation of pupils for a fuller and, more satisfying use of leisure hours' in the future and the creation1: of an; enthusiasm which would lead to further^ participation in musical activities.
