KING'S BIRTHDAY
For the secqpd 'time this week a salute of twenty-one guns boomed forth today at njjpn from Point Jerningham, the occasion being the King's Birthday, which was thus officially recognised, although the usual holiday in connection with it has been transferred to June. Flags were also gaily fluttering in today's breeze. His Majesty is 43 today, having been born in 1895. ■~."._ A P.A. telegram from Auckland states that i salute of twenty-one guns was fired from the Devonport Naval Base and a similar salute, from the military forts at North Head.
