MR. J. R. LACK

TIMARU, December 13.
The Mayor of Geraldine, Mr. John Robert Lack, aged 65, died suddenly while playing bowls at the Geraldine Bowling Club's green on Monday evening.
Mr. Lack was Deputy Mayor for some years and was elected Mayor at the last municipal election. He had resided in Fairlie for some years, arriving at Geraldine in 1931 to take up the managership of the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association. Later he entered business on his own account as a bookseller, but disposed of this about two years ago. Since then he had been engaged in accountancy and land agency work. Mr. Lack was predeceased by his wife, the surviving member of the family being a son, Mr. D. J. Lack, Dunedin.
