AIRLINER MISSING

FLIGHT OVER ALPS

MAY BE HARD TO FIND

(Received October 3, 10.30 a.m.) ZURICH, October 2. The whole of the Swiss civil air service is searching for a missing German airliner which was en route to Milan from Frankfurt with ten passengers and a crew of three. The aeroplane left Frankfurt yesterday afternoon, and was heard at several places in Switzerland. The weather was stormy and snow fell in the night. It is feared that if the machine crashed in the Alps, which are covered with snow, it will be difficult to locate.
