FIGHTING GIFT
B.M.A. AND FREE DOCTORING
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, September 30,
Advice has been received in Auckland that the British Medical Association has seht from England a donation of £500 to the New Zealand branch of the B.M.A. to be applied in a campaign against the Government and its free medical scheme in the Social Security Act.
'The gift rather disposes of the
claim by Dr. D. G. McMillan, sitting member for Dunedin West, that the British Medical Association favours the universal scheme of free medical attention," said a prominent member of the Auckland division of the New Zealand branch of the B.M.A. "Its action
sufficiently shows its opposition to the
principle."
