HAN HAM BEATS ALLEN
I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) I TIMARU, September 29. ! In a contest for the middleweigh professional boxing championship tc night G. Allen (Gisborne), holdei was beaten by C. Hanham (Waimate) challenger. The pair met ,recentlj when judges gave the decision t Allen, but the crowd thought Hanhar? won tonight. The fight was not lively till th closing stages, when Allen forced th pace to make up his leeway. Th fourteenth round saw the pair fighi ing solidly, with Hanham getting th better of the exchanges. In the fina round Hanham landed a hard right t the jaw, sending Allen through th ropes. He came back groggy an. Hanham inflicted heavy punishmen and won by a good margin. BE EARLY WITH "BAXTERS."
