1 The Minister of Education an* Health (the Hon. P. Fraser) will leave tomorrow for Blenheim, and from there will commence a tour that' is expected to keep him in. the South Island for about ten days.
Mr. T. B. Gusscott, director and general manager of J. R. McKenzie, Ltd, has; on medical advice, relinquished his position. Mr. Gusscott has been - associated with the McKenzie interests - for the past sixteen years. At a meet- * ing of the board Mr. Gusscott's.resignation was received and accepted .with much regret. Members expressed tfa« - wish that a well-earned retirement would be enjoyed "by Mr. Gusscott.
Sir James Parr, former High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, is returning to the Dominion and i« due to reach Auckland on October 28 by the Orcades, which will visit New Zealand during a cruise.
Mr. W. Jones, Mayor of Whangarei, arrived today by train to attend" * meeting of the Central Centennial Committee.
Mr. J. A. C. Allum, Deputy Mayor of Auckland, arrived today by the Limited express to attend a meeting of the executive of the Municipal A* sociation.
