Plant out all hardy annuals as space permits as they become Available. ■':''■-■' : Seeds of this class of plant may be sown in the open ground. Sow thinly and remove surplus plants while still small. Half-hardy plants may be sown under glass. These include satrias, salpiglossis, schizanthus, cilosias, hollyhocks, phlox, etc. See that seed beds are worked down to a fine tilth. Sown.on rough soil half the seeds get lost. . Prepare the beds for chrysanthemums. Work the soil to a good v - depth, manuring as you go along. These plants should be put out next month or early in November. r ;; \.-- - -Pot-grown shrubs and trees including many climbers are best planted now. The soil is warming up rapidly and the rodte soon take hold under such conditions.'
