MINISTER CRITICAL

NATIONAL PARTY DOCUMENT

(Special to tne "Evening Post.")

PALMERSTON N., This Day.

Reference to what he described as "an official document of the National Party," was made by the Hon. P. Fraser when speaking in Palmerston North last evening. Stating that it contained' instructions to candidates, he quoted from it as follows: "Speakers must remember that their first duty is to oppose arguments, claims, and promises of the present Socialist Govern* ment. Oppose! Oppose! Oppose!" "That is silly—too silly to laugh at," said Mr. Fraser. "It demands opposition to everything the Labour Party has done just because it comes from Labour. But I am coming to.< the serious part—'use every possible play of words, every fact you can advance tb show that your political opponents are fools, political hypocrites, opportunists, seekers of power, despots, traitors to their own class, their country, and their Empire.* The last is particularly precious," declared Mr. Fraser. "No Labour candidate could take up such an attitude to his opponent—l can't say such things of Mr. Hamilton, who so far has not disowned the instructions."
