MIRAMAR TOURNEY
aSEMI-FINALS REACHED
The Miramar Ladies' open golf tournament continued yesterday afternoon in fine weather, and some interesting tussles tok place in the second rounds of the championship . and Miramar handicap. Mrs. D. Crombie was too steady for Miss, M. Thompson, in their second round match. The latter is an exceedingly promising player, however, and with a little more experience should do. well. Mrs. Crombie won, 4 and 3.". The semi-finals and finals are being played today. Following are yesterday afternoon's results: —~ Championship. Second- Round.—Mrs.. Crombie beat Miss Thompson, A and 3; Miss Wheeler beat Mrs. Richmond, 4 and 2; Mrs. Lewis beat Mrs. Ellis, 3 and 1; Mrs. Pearce beat Mrs. Russell, 2 up. Miramar Handicap. Second Round. —Mrs. Mcllroy beat Mrs. Dykes, 1 up; Mrs. Ellison beat Mrs. McMahon. 4 and 3; Miss V. Campbell beat Mrs. Sherwood, 3 and 2; Mrs. Farr beat Miss G. Campbell, 1 up. Handicap Events. A handicap medal round yesterday morning resulted as follows:— A Grade.—Mrs. Norman, 91, 13—78; Mrs. Mcßae, 91, 13—78. Mrs. Norman won on a count back. B grade.—Mrs. Hatrick, 93, 20—73. A handicap bogey competition in the afternoon resulted: — A Grade.—Miss M. Thompson (10), 2 down. B grade.—Mrs. H. Smith (14), 5 down.
