REFRIGERATION ASSOCIATION

During 1940, at the time of the Centennial celebrations, it is intended to hold in Wellington a congress, of refrigerating engineers. It was mentioned at last night's fifth annual meeting of the New Zealand Association of Refrigeration that about 25 delegates might be expected to come from Australia, as well as .a few from Great Britain and the Continent.

The annual report, which was adopted, stated that the membership ot! the association now stood at 164. The report referred with regret to the loss the association had suffered by the deaths of Messrs. Lionel Nelson and Roderick Sutherland, both of whom had been enthusiasts in the field of refrigeration. Members stood in siJence as a tribute of respect to their memory.

The president explained that Mr. F. L. Goodman, honorary secretary of the New South Wales Institute of Refrigerating engineers, intended visiting New Zealand early in November and it was proposed to entertain him when he reached Wellington.

A special vote of thanks was passed to the honorary secretary, Mr. A. S. Mitchell,' for his services during the past yeax*, and it was decided to grant him the usual honorarium of £15.

It was decided to hold the next annual meeting in Wellington.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. F. W. Grainger (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. W. G. Lodder and A. E. Hefford; executive committee, Messrs. J. L. Gichard, A. G. Wilson, and W. A. Fisher.
