PARTY AT WADESTOWN

Captain and Mrs. V. G. Webb gave a cocktail party yesterday evening at : their home, 24 Watt Street, Wadestown, to bid farewell to Captain and Mrs. .R. D. Oliver prior to their departure for England. During their sojourn in New Zealand Captain Oliver has held the appointment of Second Naval member. Most of the guests were people connected with naval or shipping circles. Captain and Mrs. Webb's home commands a glorious view of the harbour and a more delightful evening could not have been chosen for their party, the roseate afterglow which the setting sun cast on the mountains, harbour, and city creating a scene which kept the guests grouped about the panoramic windows.
