BOXING
GILDO BEATS AITKEN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 26. A professional lightweight boxing contest between Billy Aitken, Wellington, and Young Gildo, Honolulu, was won by the latter on points at the end of twelve three-minute rounds. This was the third meeting of the pair. Aitken having won on points on the two previous occasions. The bout, which was witnessed by a crowd which almost filled the Town Hall, was disappointing in many respects. Gildo did most of the attacking, but his continual boring-in tactics detracted from the spectacular nature of the fighting.
