BOXING ON THURSDAY.
At the Town Hall on Thursday evening the Wellington Boxing Association will conduct another of its popular double-feature professional programmes, in addition to the usual array of amateur preliminaries. In the main bout the lightweight champion of New Zealand, Clarrie Rayner, of Blenheim, will meet Joe Franklin, of Hawke's Bay, over ten rounds, and the other professional bout, of eight rounds, will be between Erw Jacobs, of Wellington, light-heavyweight champion of New Zealand, and Kid Fisher, of England, who has an excellent professional record. Since winning the title off Jack Jarvis in a torrid battle at Blenheim several weeks ago Rayner' has been in peak form. Jacobs and Fisher are reported to be in fine fettle/and this bout should be characterised by speed and hard hitting. Particulars are advertised. ... _
