Veitch, National candidate, was asked to define the unsavoury elements of the community he had referred to as being encouraged by the Labour Party, says, the "Wanganui Chronicle," Mr. Veitch replied that he was in favour of every man deserving of sustenance getting it, but there were men who were drawing it who were not entitled to, men who could get farm work but preferred not to. Mr. O. C. Mazengarb, National candidate for Wellington Suburbs, will address the electors of the Eastern Bays at the Theatre Royal, Eastbourne, on Monday night. In connection with this meeting arrangements have been made for special Borough Council buses to leave Day's Bay and Muritai at 7.40 p.m., returning after the meeting.
