MR. JOHN PATERSON

Mr. John Paterson, formerly a building contractor in Wellington, died in Hamilton at the age of 78 years. j Mr. Paterson came to New Zealand 53 years ago from Turriff, Aberdeen- ! Shire, Scotland, and began business as a carpenter and builder at Wellington. He was a member of the firm of Paterson, Martin, and Hunter, which built the Wellington Town Hall at a cost tof £.79,263, completing the job in 1904. | In the same year Mr. Paterson retired from active business and tea years later moved to Hamilton, where he x'emained in residence until his death.
