MR. E. H. CHARLESWORTH
Formerly a well-known „ Wellington architect and son-in-law of a former Mayor of Wellington, Mr. Ellis Hallam Charlesworth died at Nelson on, Wednesday after a long illness. Mr. Charlesworth was a member of the -staff of the City Engineer, Wellington, till his resignation a year ago through ill health. . Mr. Charlesworth, who was born at Wellington, was educated at Wellington College. He entered the office of his father, Mr. Josiah Charlesworth, who prepared the plans for the Wellington Town Hall, ori which Mr. E. H. Charlesworth was employed, Later he \werit farming in Hawke's Bay? for a few years, but he returned to Wellington and in 1923 took up a position with the City Engineer's Department. Mr. Charlesworth is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Belle Luke, daughter of the late Sir John and Lady Jacobina Luke, Wellington, and threa daughters.
