MAN FINED FOR THEFT

Charged with the theft of a pair of nail extractors valued at 12s 6d, Garth Francis Durrant, labourer, aged 29, appeared before Messrs. G. D. ■McEwen and E. Price, J.P.S, in the Petone Court today.

Senior-Sergeant H. C. D. Wade said that a pair of nail extractors was found at the corner of Cuba Street and Jackson Street. It was ascertained that Mr. E. Sullivan, of Cuba Street, had lost a pair, and later Durrant admitted that he had taken the extractors from Mr. Sullivan's property. He had eleven previous convictions for various offences, .-,,*.
