"I am a bellbird and I live in a kauri tree in the forest. I go to many different trees every day. The kauri tree is sixty years old, and there are quite a number of birds living in it. I have been-living In the forest for three years. We used to play in an old pine tree that was one hundred and seventy years bid, but the woodcutter cut it down. Now we.play in I a hedge outside the wood-cutter's house. "Last year when the wood-cutters came around one of them carelessly dropped a match and set the forest on fire, but. luckily it burnt only seven trees. Every Arbor Day the men plant another tree in the forest. . " tVY HART." ! City.
