EYSTON'S SPEED RECORD
PRAISE FOR HIS CREW
FURTHER ATTEMPT SHORTLY
NEW YORK, August 25,
In an article copyright to the North American Newspaper Alliance, Captain Eyston, who created a new unofficial land speed record in his "Thunderbolt" car at Bonneville, Salt Lakes Flats, Utah, says:— "It was a tremendous sensation whistling across the salt at 347 miles an hour. -1 never dreamed there was such acceleration in the 'Thunderbolt.' I want to give my faithful crew a deserved word of praise. The improvements we made last winter have all proved themselves justified. "I look forward to my next attempt with even greater anticipation, but it is unlikely I will be able to run again this week. Mounting new tyres will require two or three days. In the meantime I will watch Cobb make his speed attempt." _ The Australian Associated Press auotes John Cobb as saying: "It is devilish tough luck for Eyston and lamentable that a man has to risk his life for nothing."
