HAPPY AFTERNOON
CRIPPLE CHILDREN'S PARTY
A very happy afternoon was spent on Tuesday by both adults and children at a party given by Mrs. C. G. F. Morice at her home in Hill Street. About 60 per cent, of the younger children registered with the Wellington branch of the Crippled Children Society was present.
Miss C. Morice opened the party by showing two comedy films, and ice creams were served in the interval. Miss Florence Penny also entertained at the piano, and the children joined in community singing. After tea the children played happily together, and were loath to be packed into cars to be taken home.
Cheers were given for Mrs. Morice, and each child went home with a balloon.
The party was organised by the social committee of the branch, of which Mrs. E. W. Hunt is the chairman, and the committee expressed its thanks to all those who lent their cars and helped in other ways to give pleasure to the children. Mrs. Knox Gilmer, president of the society, was among those present.
Mustard mixed with a small proportion of cornflour will keep moist longer and be much milder.
