L. J. ELLIS NOT ATTENDING
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") . DUNEDIN. This Day. Most of the horses engaged at the Otago Hunt Club's Meeting were given useful work'this morning at Wingatui. Valantua was the only one to gallop, and ran three furlongs on the grass! in 37sec. The Tally Ho Handicap favourite, unless present plans are altered, will be ridden tomorrow by the stable apprentice V. Sellars. It will be his first ride in a race. It is unlikely that L. J. Ellis will be riding at the meeting. It is rumoured that he may be married shortly. The following riding engagements have been announced:—P. W. Powell, Adina, Janet Gaynor; L. Hare, Attractive Note, Roseman; W. Connor, Hunting Chorus, Auctor, and probably Sword-Stick; -ft. •J. Mackie, Compensate, Monipere; J. Dooley, Osculate, Slayer; M. Caddy, Donadea; J. Murfitt, Gold Wren; J; Jennings, Drinkup; P. Spratt, Vallock; J. Richards, Pallafbrm, Vantoon; W. Shand, Night Scout, Joy Boa.
