PACT INVALIDATED

WASHINGTON, August 24. The United States Maritime Commission has invalidated the 1930 agreement under which for ten years the Dollar Steamship Lines paid the Matson Navigation Company 50 per cent, of its gross receipts from the Hawaiian and United States Pacific Coast traffic and divided the Pacific traffic between themselves. The Matson Line agreed to refrain from the American, Asiatic, Philippines, and Guam traffic, while the Dollar Line will refrain from the New Zealand, Australian, Fijian, and Samoan traffic. _■
