SEATOUN WIN EASILY

Fielding a weak team owing to sickness in their ranks, Scottish Wanderers put up a grand defence in their match against Seatoun. Though the final result was very one-sided, Seatoun winning by eight goals to nil, the game at times was spectacular. Seatoun's combination and shooting capabilities were superb. In Boyes, at centre-half, they have a player of outstanding merit. He kept his forwards well supplied with the ball, and his co-opera-tion with D. Yeoman was ideal. Seatoun's first score was the result of perfect right-wing play, the ball travelling to Salt on the left, who had no difficulty in scoring. From now on Seatoun dominated the play, adding five more goals, the scorers being Edmunds, Boyes, and D. Yeoman (3). The first spell ended with the score: Seatoun 6, Scottish Wanderers 0.

Playing with the wind in their favour in the second spell, Wanderers did much better; in fact, they were rather unfortunate in not opening their scoring account on two occasions. As in the first spell their defensive work was again a feature. Seatoun's two goals in this spell were the result of particularly fine work on the part of Gibson and Salt. D. Yeoman scored both goals. Mr. Graham was referee.
