MISSING BRIDEGROOM
ABSENT OVER A WEEK
POLICE PLANS FOR SEARCH
No trace has yet been found of Mr. Tertius Munro McKinnon, aged 26, of Kurow, who disappeared on July 2 from the Empire Hotel, Timaru, where Mrs. McKinnon and he were staying in the course of their honeymoon, states a correspondent in the "New Zealand Herald" of today.
Fishermen on the harbour found a hat in the water, but the missing man's father, Mr. A. H. McKinnon, a prominent Kurow sheep farmer, was not able to identify it. The police intend to make a thorough search oi tne Harbour with grappling irons
Mr. McKinnon was married at Oamaru five days prior to his disappearance, and, after the wedding, the couple left on their honeymoon for Christchurch, where they stayed until July 2, when they went to Timaru by motor-car. They booked in at the Empire Hotel.
After dinner Mr. McKinnon had appeared distressed and left the hotel at 8 o'clock to consult a doctor. He had previously received medical treatment for nervous trouble. When he failed to return to the hotel anxiety was felt, and his description was circulated to the various police stations and was broadcast, but since then no clue to his whereabouts has been found.
