At the completion of these matches the first six players are selected to train. If number seven is unbeaten or. equal in performances to number six he is to b« added to the players selected to train.

Each sub-association, if it runs its own ranking matches, is to be allowed to nominate players for inclusion in Wilding Shield and Nunneley Casket teams, and any such player shall be included with those selected in the previous two rules. A .special committee, to be called the "shield and casket committee," will be appointed for controlling the training, and will be given full power to select the teams. The committee will have the power to play any matches, either singles or doubles, they deem necessary among the players in training. _ Any nominees of any sub-association, before selection for training, may be requested by the committee to play any preliminary match or matches against, any player or players selected by the committee.
