WAVE OF SUICIDES
JEWS UNDER NAZISM
DISMISSAL OF WORKERS
LONDON, July 6. The Vienna correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that evidence confirms a report that 800 Jews and Jewesses have attempted to commit suicide during the last few days, the majority succeeding. The explanation of the suicide wave is an order, which Herr Burckel, leader of the Nazi Party in Austria, is now reported'to have repudiated, demanding the dismissal of all Jewish workers. This had largely been put into effect,, however, before the repudiation. Trade and tourist traffic has been brought to a standstill.
