ROTARY CLUB
There were 77 members present at the annual meeting of the Wellington Rotary Club held in Kirkcaldie and Stains's rooms on Tuesday evening. Mr. Robert Telford, the retiring president, who presided, extended a special greeting to Sir Charles Norwood, who has just returned from a two months' trip to Australia, and congratulated him on his progress towards health. Mr. C. W. Salmon, who has also been unwell, was also cordially received back to the club circle. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Officers for the ensuing year were then declared elected, following upon which Mr; F. Campbell Spratt was installed as president- and Mr. E. P. Hay as vice-president. The president delivered an address, which dealt for the most part with I the rearrangement of the club comjmittees to bring about more cbmpact- ' ness in action. A cablegram had been received from Mr. J. M. McKenzie to the effect that i the international Rotary convention at San Francisco, was a great success. This convention was also attended by the district Governor for New Zealand, Mr. G. Hutchison, of Auckland. He is returning to Auckland on July 26, and will probably attend a confer- | enee to be held in Wellington towards the end of that w^ek, when he will give his impressions of the San' Francisco convention.
