'vßeferences by the -Prime Minister ai:kettering to agricultural policy have pleased Dominions representatives, but apgered British farmers and members of> the House of Commons representing agricultural constituencies. Mr. Chamberlain said .it had been asserted that all the food Britain needed should be grown at home. "This," hg^said, "would ruin Empire and foreign countries which are dependent on our markets, and destroy tfieir" purchasing power."
