PERSONAL NOTES

Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Salmon, Parliament Street, returned today from a visit to Auckland.

Mrs. R. F. Horan and Miss S. R. Horan, wife and daughter of Commodore H. E. Horan, Chief of the Naval Staff, arrived by the Rangitiki from London this morning.

Mrs. M. L. Wilson, Auckland, - her daughter, Miss G. M. Wilson, and her sons, Messrs. J. L. and C. M. Wilson, arrived at Wellington by the Rangitiki today after a visit to England.

Miss Jean Begg, general secretary of the Y.W.C.A. for India, Burma, and Ceylon, expects to arrive in New Zealand towards the end of July on a four months' vacation. Miss Begg will spend a few days in Auckland and Wellington before proceeding to her home in Dunedin.

Mrs. F. Grotrian, "Konewa," Ashhurst, is staying with her mother, Mrs. W. M. Shand, 39 Tinakori Road, and will remain in Wellington until after the Trentham races.

Mr. and Mrs. Eric Maunsell, Bowler's Creek, Otago, left on Wednesday to spend a fortnight's holiday in Wellington. .

Mrs. A. C. Lavington, who has been spending a holiday in Wellington, has } returned to Hamilton.

Mrs. L. F. Ballinger, Manawatu, "who has been visiting Wellington and the Wairarapa, has returned home.

Mrs. L. Moore, Auckland, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at the Hotel St. George.

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Fleming and Mr. Jim Fleming . will leave for Auckland today. Mr. Jim Fleming will sail by the Remuera for England on Tuesday to join the Royal Air Force.

• Mrs. M. J. Hurley, Oriental Bay, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. L. O. Hooker, Hawera, for a fortnight, returned to Wellington today.

Mrs. F. Slater, Palmerston North, is Staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mrs. H." S..,Vestey (Chrislchurch), Miss Elizabeth d'A. Winipens (Cambridge), and Mrs. F. J. Christensen (Marion) are staying at the Midland Hotel. 7

Mrs. D. A. Gain (Dunedin) and Mrs. W. O. Rennie (Doyleston, Canterbury), are guests at the Empire Hotel.
