Appreciative reference was made to the work done by Mr. and Mr?, W. Smith during Mr. Smith!s term as president, and a special vote of thanks was accorded Mr. G. H. Sayage for his enthusiastic work during nine years on the"'general committee. The auditor, MJP. 'A; Ackroyd, was thanked for his services. Mrs; W. Smith was presented a'vase of flowers by Mrs. G. H.- Savage on behalf of the ladies' committee.

The-annual report recorded that four show# were held during the year. The gladioli and-dahlia show had been described, as one of the finest and. most colourful in the annals of the society. The garden circle, with 113 members, was a great asset to the society, and had staged wonderful exhibits at the spring and autumn , shows. The circle expresSed. it* thanks to . speakers and those who. had lent their gardens for demonstrations. The • ladles' committee had dene excellent service, Mrs. Olphert and her daughters and Mrs. W? G. Alexander were specially thanked for their services. The Work" of the ladies had brought to the society the sum of £ 18. The hall was now proving a financial success.
