BANK THEFTS
CLERK CHARGED £69,000 SAID TO BE INVOLVES — ■ J (Received June 28, 1.50 p.m.) r 'Sj BRISBANE, This Day. ' Cecil Roberts Trotman Foote, aget! 37, a clerk, was charged in the Police Court with having stolen money belonging to the National Bank of Aus» tralasia. It is stated that the amount involved is approximately £69,000. The police said that the accused had admitted the defalcations, saying thas he had paid about £50,000 to one book! maker and between £15,000 an<| £20,000 to another. The case was adjourned.
