VICEREGAL. The Rev. Canon Davies and Mrs. Davies, Professor J. Richardson (London), and Lieutenant-Commander T. Ellis and Mrs. Ellis were the guests of their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Galway at luncheon at Government House today. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon] M. J. Savage) will leave for Auckland on Friday night and will open the new school at Orakei on Saturday. He will return to Wellington on Monday morning. The Minister of Defence (the Hon, F. Jones) will leave on Wednesday night for Te Kuiti, where he will open the new show buildings and the Winter Show. Sir Cecil Leys, Auckland, and Mr. E. A. Blundell, Wellington, left Auckland today by the Mariposa for Honolulu and California. Wing-Commander L. M. Isitt, Royal New Zealand Air Force, returned to Wellington by the Limited express today. The Rev. A. Wylie Blue, of Belfast, who has been supplying at Scots Church, Sydney, for the past six months, and Mrs. Blue will leave Auckland by the Mariposa for Sail Francisco today. Dr. J. A. Pollia, director of the Boyer Foundation Cancer Research Institute, Los Angeles, who has been visiting New Zealand, will leave Auck-. land on his return to the United State#' by the Mariposa today. Canon C. H. Ritchie, rector of St. John> Episcopal "Church, Edinburgh, - and his son, Mr. J. S. R. Ritchie, arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi from Vancouver yesterday. A former resi - dent of Dunedin, Canon Ritchie is revisiting the Dominion after an absence, of 17 years. Mr. A. O. Heany, secretary of thaAssociated Chambers of Commerce,' left today for Feilding, where he will address a meeting of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce. Mr. H. H.
