LARGELY-ATTENDED

FUNERAL

The funeral of the late Mr. Albert Erskine took place at Karori Cemetery yesterday, following a short service at the chapel of E. Morris, Jun., Kent Terrace. The various clubs and organisations of which the late Mr. Erskine was a member were well represented, including the New Zealand Educational Institute, Lodge Waterloo and kindred lodges, the Wellington Bowling Club, the Miramar Golf Club, and the Wellesley Club. Bowling clubs in. the city and suburbs were represented. A large number of old pupils of Clyde Quay, Te Aro, and The Terrace schools were present to pay their last respects to a most popular teacher. The service at the chapel was conducted by the Rev. T. G. Fagg, who also officiated at the graveside. A Masonic service was also conducted at the graveside by Mr. T. G. Cox (Master of the Waterloo Lodge) and lodge officers. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Andrew Fletcher, D. H. Wilmot, F. J. Gooder, C. R. Ingram, R. J. Thompson, and Lieut-Commander Earnshaw. Among those present were Messrs. J H. O'Donnell, P. Skoglund, T. T. Skoglund, A. Phelps, E. E. Stonebanks, J Rennie, G. Faulknor, W. Robson, R. M Roberts, F. Smith, R. Laurie, J. C. E. Turner, W.
