SKATER'S RETURN

SUCCESS IN AUSTRALIA

Misj Jean Hahn, of Christchurch, who represented New Zealand in the Australian amateur roller skating championships, will arrive in "Wellington on Monday. She met with considerable success in the championships, and for the championship title itself, covering waltztime and two-step time events, she was beaten by only one point by Miss Ethel Flanagan, of Queensland. The New Zealand competitor won the waltz time event, and was third in the two-step time event, as well as filling a similar place in the grand solo fancy skating contest. She also figured among the carnival prize winners in taking the honours for skating costume. Since the championships Miss Hahn has taken part in numerous other events, and has gained greatly in skating experience. It is expected that Miss Hahn, while in Wellington, will be giving special demonstrations.
