YORKSHIRE JUST WIN SMAILES'S FINE BOWLING (Received June 25, noon.) LONDON, June 24. Fine bowling by Smailes, who took six for 35 and eight for 68, gave Yorkshire a win by 12 runs against

Glamorgan in the county cricket matches which were completed today. Other bowlers secured good averages, and there were also several centuries. Results are:— Gloucestershire v. Kent, at Gloucester.—Kent, 404 (Todd 118) and 99 for none. Gloucestershire, 238 (Todd four for 49) and, following on, 262 (Neale 107). Kent won by ten wickets. Nottinghamshire v. Northamptonshire, at Nottingham.—Nottinghamshire, 284 for eight declared (Keeton 109, Gunn 125). Northamptonshire, 128 (Jepson four for 38) and, following on, 151 (Voce four for 40). Nottinghamshire won by an innings and 5 runs.

Somerset v. Essex, at Bath.—Somerset, 125 (R. Smith four for 37, P. Smith four for 31) and 206 (Nicholls seven for 79). Essex, 278 (Waterman 103) and 54 for four (Buse four for 21). Essex won by six wickets.

Lancashire v. Worcestershire, at Dudley.—Lancashire, 307 (Nutter 85 not out) and 26 for' none. Worcestershire, 100 (Pollard four for 42) and, following on, 372 for eight declared (Cooperlll,Gibbons 123). .Lancashire] won on the first innings.

Yorkshire v. Glamorgan, at Hull.— Yorkshire, 273 (Barber 90; K. Davies five for 83) and 68 for five, declared. Glamorgan, 179 (Smailes six for 35) and 150 (Smailes eight for 68). Yorkshire won by 12 runs. I

Cambridge University v. Hampshire, at Southampton.—Cambridge, 330 (Hewan 88) and 95 (Creese four for 14). Hampshire, 333 (Moore 128) and 93 for one wicket, Hampshire won by nine wickets.

Oxford University v. Sussex, at Worthing.—Oxford, 412 (Eggar 98) and 141. Sussex, 196 and 245. Oxford won by 112 runs.
