WELLINGTON ESPERANTO CLUB

At the weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club, held in the I clubroom, 12 Victoria Street, the president, Mr. E. A. Hornblow, asked the members to stand in silence as a mark of respect for Mr. J. H. Moller, a club member and a member of the International Esperanto League, who died as the result of an accident on Saturday last. After the enrolment of new members, the usual classes were held until 9 p.m., when the Commissioner of Scouts for Lower Hutt, Mr. •T. Vogel, Mr. J. R. H. Cooksey (Dominion Training Commissioner), Messrs. G. Maehl, K. May, A. Lawson, H. Tilly, K. Fraser, S. Lowe, and B. H. Etherington of the Jamboree team who are preparing for the International Scout Jamboree to be held in New Zealand in 1940, entertained the club' with a lecture by Mr. Vogel, leader of the Jamboree team, and the screening of a 3-act film of the last International Scout Jamboree, held in Holland last year. In thapking Mr. Vogel and his team for their very interesting lecture and film, Mr. Vernon J. Leek, D.8.E.A., said he hoped that the Scout movement throughout the world would give more consideration to the learning of Esperanto. A hearty vote of thanks was extended to Mr. Vogel and his team.
