TRIAL OPENS

ALLEGED MURDER AT SEA

HONG KONG, June 21.

The trial has begun at the Assizes of able seaman Edwin Dwyer, aged 19, charged with the murder of leading seaman Robert Dickenson aboard H.M.S. Dorsetshire when the vessel was steaming up the Queensland coast.

It Is alleged that Dickenson made a discovery about Dwyer's conduct, after which Dwyer was heard threatening Dickenson, and that Dwyer retained ammunition belonging to a rifle team and shot Dickenson while he was asleep.- ■ Nobody saw the act.
