NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Wellington Citj Council to introduce in the forthcoming Session of Parliament the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Bill (1938), The objects and purport of the Bill arc as follows: — 1." (a) To enable the Wellington Citj ' Council to pay out of its District Fund retiring allowances, or compassionate al lowances, to employees who have, with tru Council's consent, retired through infirm' ! (b) To provide that such allowance! shall not, with any superannuation pay , able under the National Provident Func - Act, 1920, or otherwise, exceed the limil of superannuation payable under that Act (c) To provide that the above-mentionec provisions shall not apply to persons re tiring on superannuation in the ordinary course merely on account of having reached the retiring age, or having completec the prescribed period of service. (d) To repeal Section 113 of the Reserve! and Other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies' Empowering Act, 1919. 2. (a) To enable the Council to granl out of its District Fund to its employees having over ten years' service, who retin on superannuation, retiring allowances nol exceeding six months' pay at the time ol retirement. (b) To provide that such allowance) shall be in addition to any _ amount payable by way of superannuation. _ 'j (c) To provide that the powers given bj j this Clause shall be additional to those sel out in Clause 1 above and that no allow . ance under these provisions shall be made , under this Clause to any persons receiving a grant under the provisions mentioned in the snid Clause 1. . .
