OIL FROM COAL
PRODUCTION IN BRITAIN BUILDING OF 12 PLANTS ADVOCATED (Received June 21, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, June 20. Stressing that all the fighting services require oil, for which there is no alternative, a report by the Labour Party urges the Government to establish twelve plants in the distressed areas for the production of oil from coal. It insists that production should be fostered in peace-time to ensure a source in the event of emergency.
