CLYDE QUAY SCHOOL
l EX-PUPILS' ASSOCIATION K ___ The report of the Clyde Quay School 0 Ex-pupils' Association, to be presented . to the meeting to be held in the Eliza- * beth Street School at 7.45 p.m. tomor- * row to discuss the question of the holding of jubilee celebrations, says r that the committee has been in com- : munication with the school committee ' and the Home and School Association - with the view to ensuring a fitting celebration, arranged either by a com- ' bined committee, or by separate committees which would cater for (a) pre- " sent pupils; (b) ex-pupils; (c) school ' committee members and staff, past r and present. It will also be necessary to decide * whether the jubilee celebrations shall ! take place in December of this year, ■ which will mark the end of the school's . fiftieth year, or in February next, ' when the 'fifty-first year will com--1 mence. "It is pleasing to be able to report that among many good friends of our 1 old school, none is looking forward ; with keener auticipation to the pro- ' posed celebrations than our revered first headmaster, Mr. W. T. Grundy, 1 and it is felt that his enthusiasm has 1 only to be shared by ex-pupils of later years, as well as those of earlier periods, to ensure the complete success of any functions which may be held," says the report. The question of financing the jubilee celebrations is one which will require serious consideration, as the balance-, sheet presented with the report discloses only a small credit balance.
