SALVATION ARMY
A comprehensive programme of meetings has been arranged for toe 55th anniversary of the Wellington City Corps of the Salvation Army, which will be held during the weekend. Commissioner Adams, the leader of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, will preside over all meetings, and will be assisted by Colonel Grattan. The opening fixture this afternoon will take the form of an old identities' reunion, and will" be followed by a birthday tea at which 300 people are expected to be present. A musical festival will be held at night. Meetings will be held tomorrow morning, afternoon, and night in the Citadel, Vivian Street. The celebrations will conclude on Monday, when an afternoon holiness meeting will be held and a thanksgiving meeting at night. Salvation Army operations began in Wellington in June, 1883, one of the first officers being Envoy Colley, who is still a resident of Wellington,
