DANCE AT LYALL BAY
PLUNKET SOCIETY BRANCH The Rongotal College authorities showed their'sympathy with the work of the Plunket Society by giving the newly-formed Kilbir'nie-Lyall Bay .branch the use of the college gymnasium hall for "the dance which the committee held last night., As. a mark of appreciation all the decorations were carried out in the college colours of gold and black. There "was a profusion of streamers, and psuedo hollyhocks made bright splashes of colours in various angles of the hall.- The dance band was seated on the dance floor, the stage being used for the buffet supper. The tables were bedecked with masses of Iceland poppies, and all the supper, which was: home-made, was. supplied by the committee of friends*'of' the' society. ■" 1" .*: : . : . ; ':'.' ,v '". -'-'-" ■."'•-. New ' Zealand ballroom dancing champions. Everyone was in merry mood, and the dance band and Mr. Bruce Quinton', who was M.C., played an important part in the evening's entertainment. The ■president'of the bfcanch, Mrs. E. B. Nees, was the official hostess. She was wearing a black 'Velvet gown trimmed with cerise. - Assisting her were the members" of the committee, Mrs. D.'
