THIRD-PARTY RISK
MOTORISTS' LIABILITY
"Apparently some motorists are not aware." said the Minister of Transport (the Hon. R. Semple) today, "that they have no protection under the Third-party Risks Act if they drive their vehicles after May 31 without having purchased new number-plates. After May 31, a motorist is liable for prosecution if his vehicle is used on the road without the new plates. However, one day's grace has been arranged, and motorists will not be prosecuted before June 2 for using the old plates, provided the new ones are carried in the vehicle."
