SUNK IN VALENCIA
THE SHIP PENTHAMES (Received June 1, 9.40 a.m.) VALENCIA, May 31. The insurgents bombed and sank th® British ship- Penthames. The vessel was being repaired when she was sunk. The crew were saved. A message from Madrid published yesterday ■ stated that the insurgents, in bombing coastal towns, set lire to the French steamer Djem at Valencia, killing a sailor and wounding a cook on the British steamer Penthames, and the boatswain and a sailor on th# British ship Thurston.
