DORSET MEN
ANNUAL MEETING
The twenty-seventh annual meeting of the New Zealand Society of Dorset Men was held recently. The president, the Rev. F. J. Usher, presided. The president referred to the deaths during the year of Mr. James Rendell, aged 93. a foundation member of thesociety, and Mr. E. C. Day, who served with the Dorset Regiment at Gallipoli. As a mark of respect those present stood in silence for a few moments. The president, in moving the adoption ot the report and balance-sheet, paid a high tribute to the veteran secretary, Mr. H. J. Poole, for his efficient services, and to the satisfactory finances of the society. Officers were elected as follows:— President, the Rev. F. J. Usher; vicepresidents, Messrs. C. P. Cake, J. Besant, H. King, C. E. Chittey, H. D. Poole, W. J. Bartlett, R. Seavill, T. A. Maskew, W. G. Lodder, E. Samways, and T. P. Andrews; committee, Messrs. T. J. Guppy (chairman), C. H. Dement, T. A. Maskew, H. J. Poole, jun., H. King, and Captain Morgan. During the evening an interesting talk on the towns and villages of Dorset was give by Mr. Scammell. At the conclusion of the business members and friends were entertained by the president and the committee.
