JAPANESE SERVICE
FAST SHIP WITHDRAWN
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, May 18.
received in Auckland from Yamashita and Company (London), Ltd., states that the head office at Kobe of the Yamashita Kisen Kaisha service has withdrawn the motor-ship Kozan Maru. from the Japan-New Zealand trade.l The Kozan Maru will be re-, placed by the steamer Shanghai Maru, which will maintain the company's service with the steamer Naniwa Maru.
Although no intimation has been given, it is considered possible that the Kozan Maru, a comparatively new ship capable of a speed of about 15 knots, has been absorbed by Japan's urgent need: for; ships ; to run between Japan and China. ' ,
