LONDON, May 17.
In the House of Commons Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, Minister of War, said that the extra cost of providing homekilled meat for the Army instead of meat from the Dominions during the year 1937-38 would have been £439,000. Mr. H. Day (Labour): Does the Minister agree that the health of the troops could be improved by their ..eating British fresh meat instead of imported meat? Mr. Hore-Belisha: I don't think the health of the troops could be improved.
